Paris Jackson Opens Up About How Late Dad Michael Jackson Made Sure She Didn’t Feel ‘Entitled’; Reveals ‘It Wasn’t All Glitz And Glam’
King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson is following her father’s footsteps. Just like the King of Pop, Paris recently released a solo single titled Let Down. While speaking with supermodel Naomi Campbell, Paris Jackson opened up about her childhood, which was anything but typical. The Let Down singer revealed that she has learned from a young age not to feel entitled. She shared how her superstar dad was really good about making sure she and her siblings were cultured.

On Naomi Campbell’s YouTube series No Filter, Paris Jackson credited her late father Michael for teaching her siblings and her how not to feel entitled. She said, “My dad was really good about making sure we were cultured, making sure we were educated, and not just showing us like the glitz and glam, like hotel hopping, five-star places. It was also like, we saw everything. We saw third world countries. We saw every part of the spectrum.”

When Campbell told the Wilted singer that she “shouldn’t be doing [model] castings,” considering her amount of fame, Paris Jackson reacted and shared how she believes that she should earn everything. She said, “I’m also a full believer that I should earn everything. I need to…I go to auditions, I work hard, I study scripts, I do my thing.” Paris opened up about how her growing up was about earning stuff. She said, “If we wanted five toys from FAO Schwarz or Toys “R” Us, we had to read five books. It’s earning it, not just being entitled to certain things or thinking oh I got this. It’s like working for it, working hard for it, it’s, it’s something else entirely. It’s an accomplishment.”

Meanwhile, Paris Jackson lost her father in 2009. Michael Jackson had shielded his kids away from the media. Paris, along with her siblings-brothers Prince and Bigi Jackson lived with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson. It was at the age of 18 when Paris moved out from her grandmom’s home.
